Promise and Incentive Awards

The Promise Award

The EOF Promise Award was initially offered to first-year EOF Students in Fall 2004. This program is an important step toward enriching the College and its commitment to educating a diverse population, one that mirrors the population of the State of New Jersey.

The Promise Award provides funding for direct costs, plus books, for the Fall and Spring semesters of the first two years of their studies at the College. To receive the Promise Award, you must be eligible to receive the State of New Jersey’s Tuition Aid Grant (TAG) and must adhere to all guidelines outlined and enforced by the Higher Education Student Assistant Authority.

For the first two years of their studies at The College, The Promise Award assists students with completing their undergraduate degree with the lowest loan encumbrance possible and provides comprehensive support in order to graduate from The College of New Jersey. Students who decide to enroll at The College of New Jersey in their EOF program will receive the EOF Promise Award as long as they continue to meet the eligibility requirements for the NJ Tuition Aid Grant (TAG). Please respond to all mailings from the College and the Higher Education Student Assistance Authority (HESAA) to ensure all documentation is submitted.

Students who enroll in the EOF program at TCNJ must reside on campus during the summer program and traditional school year as a requirement of the Promise Award. All students must also complete additional questions from the Higher Education Student Assistance Authority (HESAA). Register here to ensure you have completed your questions: HESAA.org.

The Incentive Award

The Incentive Award is an extension of the Promise Award. It helps fund the 3rd and 4th years of enrollment of the college with varying award amounts based on eligibility guidelines, academic performances, and unit progression. There is an EOF Incentive Scholarship that students can be eligible for based on their accumulated credits and cumulative GPA. This scholarship will automatically be awarded to students who meet the criteria.
